I took my first Photo I course at Richard Stromberg's Chicago Photography Classes way back in 2010! I have enjoyed taking a variety of courses here, including the Show Class in the Fall of 2011. There has always been great energy and camaraderie here. The classes have given me a strong foundation and confidence to take on a variety of photo projects.
The images I'm showing in this show were taken in Cambodia (black and white) and Laos (color). They all focus on man’s relationship with water. In the developing world, this relationship is especially tenuous. Millions of people in these countries live in rural areas and depend on water for their work, transportation, and food. But they are also extremely vulnerable to disease and other issues due to lack of access to safe drinking water and proper sanitation. The photographs are archivally printed on Epson Legacy Baryta paper.
I have a photography group called Artists for Action Chicago. We use photography/art to try and advance socially progressive causes.
By day, my wife and I are a residential real estate team. Our site is bergrenkreuserteam.com. We live in the West Ridge neighborhood of Chicago with our dog, Ranger.
Please join us on Sun., Sept. 17th from 10:30 A.M – 4:00 P.M. to view and congratulate this year's class. 14 students have worked months to create amazing bodies of work! Included with the WithInSight Gallery this year are photographs from our new High School Program (FreshLens). Included in the opening are hors d'oeuvres, drinks, and a raffle with a chance to win one of the artist's prints. We hope to see you!
